On July 24, five Dimension Drivers participated in the Second Annual Convoy for Kids. The Convoy is to aid the Prospect Child and Family Center in Greenwich, NY. The Center is a not-for-profit organization that offers multi-faceted services for at-risk and developmentally disabled individuals. For over 50 years, the Center has been dedicated to the medical, physical and mental-health and well being of children in New York State. The July 24 event featured a convoy of over 500 trucks driving through Saratoga and Washington Counties, and ended with a truck show at the Washington County Fairgrounds. All funds raised by the Convoy go directly to support children at the Center.

Settling In
May, 2010
We are well established in our new buildings, the former Super Steel locomotive manufacturing plant in Glenville, NY. As reported in January, the building provides for economies of scale, close association of related work groups and greater efficiencies in all phases of production. A number of massive doors for truck entry and exit, as well as for railroad delivery of stock, means direct intake of raw materials and delivery of finished products. Also the contiguous-extensive floor space allows organized storage of extensive inventory and efficient positioning of machinery. And most important, workstations are so arranged our people can cooperate on manufacture of multiple large projects. All this means that Dimension will continue to supply and build rebar products within specifications, on time, and fairly priced.
Accompanying photographs show examples of our stores and activities on the shop floors, as well as products being fabricated.
# 1. Simultaneous fabrication of coiled bars. We can dual-strand on many bar sizes, and a variety of preloaded coils allows for instant changeover of the machines.
# 2. A view of the stock bay from the mezzanine. We keep in inventory various lengths up to 74 feet.
# 3. Cages all machine welded, all exactly the same. Welded cages are rigid and can be stacked. Reduced freight costs is only one of many advantages.
# 4. One of our current projects. Note especially the offset bent #14 groups. This cage when completed will weigh nearly 1000,000 lbs.

Announcing Our Big Move
January, 2010
We are very pleased to announce that we are moving to a new (twelve years old) manufacturing facility about eight miles from our existing location. On the first of the year Dimension bought the former Super Steel buildings in Glenville, NY.
The buildings were designed and constructed for heavy manufacturing in 1996. Super steel built railroad locomotives, hence the facilities are excellent for Dimension’s fabricating operations. This purchase, on twenty-one acres in the Glenville Business and Technology Park, includes 152,000 square feet of open floor space in one main building. This main building has eleven overhead cranes (up to 150 ton capacity), high bay space, and two rail sidings that run directly into the building. The facilities will allow economies of scale, close association of related work groups and greater efficiencies in all phases of production. All of this ensures value for our customers.
Dimension acknowledges with gratitude the help of the Schenectady County Economic Development Team, The Mutiplex Development Authority, and the First National Bank of Scotia for their help with this purchase; "...without their strong support this would not have been possible."
Our people are at this moment making the move -- check back often for the latest news!
